Working for Cha-Cha

Cha-Cha is a service that allows users to ask questions and get quick answers from friendly, helpful people like you!

First off, I want to state that Cha-Cha is NOT designed to be a primary source of revenue, as stated on their website.  The earnings are low, but for those who work at it, this can be a helpful supplemental source of income.

From Cha-Cha :
  • Guides can earn a set amount per task completed. Expeditors earn $0.02 cents per completed task and Transcribers $0.03 per completed task. Generalists & Specialists earn between $0.10 and $0.20 per completed task, based on the Category of the question.
  • Guides can also earn points for each search or task they complete. Expeditors and Transcribers earn 2 Points per completed task, and Generalists & Specialists earn 8 Points. Points are given a MINIMUM cash value at the beginning of each month. That value increases as the total number of sessions of all GuideShare guides increases. So, the more sessions you and the rest of the Guide population complete under Points mode, the more everyone’s Points are worth!
  • ChaCha Guides must be 18+ years old, fluent in English, and have a U.S. mailing address. Guides must be authorized to work in the U.S. and must have a high-speed Internet connection in order to connect to ChaCha systems. Successful Guides love researching online and have excellent writing skills.
Flexibility is the best part of this job-you can log in anytime, anywhere there is a internet connection, as much or as little as you feel like it! Of course, the more you work at it, the more you will earn, and the sharper your skill set will be.

There are several roles that you can take on while working for Cha-Cha, and I suggest you read more about them here, but the positions are that of Expeditor, Generalist, Specialist, Transcriber and Vetter.

It is important to note you are note an employee, but rather an Independent Contractor, and will get a 1099 come tax time if you make over a certain amount.

I personally have never worked for Cha-Cha, however, I had a friend that did (while she was unemployed and looking for work) and although it didn't pay the rent, it did help her and her boyfriend pay several bills while she was looking. So if you are trying to chip away at a debt (however big or small) or would simply like extra spending money, this could be a very good opportunity.
